Sugaring
What is sugaring (Candying) and why is it so popular?
Sugaring, also called candying, is a natural method where a paste of sugars, water, lemon, and in the case of Skin Candy, extra xylitol, is gently spread over the skin and removed in the direction of hair growth. Unlike waxing, the hair length does not need to be 5 to 7mm: the Xylitol paste removes even the shortest hairs – a welcome bonus for intensive care without waiting time.
Why Candying feels better than waxing
- Sticks only to dead skin cells, not to living epithelial skin, meaning less pain and irritation, unlike waxing which pulls the skin itself.
- Working in the direction of hair growth prevents hair breakage in the follicle. This means fewer ingrown hairs and softer regrowth.
- Cutaneously soft and nourishing: over the course of treatments, hair follicles become thinner, and hair growth gradually decreases.
